Serves: 8 servings

Prep time: about 20 minutes

Total time: about 3 hours, 20 minutes

Wash and slice strawberries, place in large mixing bowl, and set aside. Dissolve gelatin in cold water, then mix in sugar. Add boiling water and lemon juice, then stir well and set aside. Assemble pie by arranging layer of strawberries and Burl. First, place 1 ½ cup strawberries as layer in bottom of pie crust. Arrange ½ cup of Burl as layer over strawberries.  Add 1 ½ cup strawberries as another later, then add rest of Burl as a layer.  Finally, top with remaining strawberries.  Pour filling mixture over strawberries and Burl, pouring over all contents to ensure filling spreads evenly throughout pie.
