What Makes Burl kidney-friendly?

So what exactly makes our products kidney-friendly?

There’s three main reasons, and they all help with following low-phosphorus diets.

1. Start with Barley

Whole grain barley is naturally low in phosphorus. In fact, barley has 35% less phosphorus than oats (USDA). Consuming barley instead of oats is a natural way to eat less phosphorus in each serving. Burl Barley Granola is made with only rolled barley as the grain source. By using barley rather than oats, we’ve lowered the phosphorus content in each serving of our granola.

2. No Added Phosphorus

Phosphorus-based food additives are seemingly everywhere.

Everywhere except for Burl Barley Granola.

Instead, we believe the nutty sweet taste of whole grain barley makes our granola naturally delicious.

Clean ingredients, always delicious.

3. Voluntary Phosphorus Labeling

Phosphorus labeling isn’t a requirement for food labels in the USA.

That’s a real challenge for someone who is trying to follow a low-phosphorus diet.

We voluntarily add phosphorus to all our nutrition labels, making it easier for people know what they’re eating.
