The best part of an apple pie is eating it with loved ones. But we suspect that too many apple pies never even get started because of the hassle and mess involved with making it. With our tried-and true recipe, if you can slice an apple, you can make this delicious homemade apple pie!

This recipe simplifies pie-making by using a store-bought crust while the topping is made with tasty Burl Barley Granola. Now, you can spend less time making the pie and instead get to the good part – eating (and sharing) your amazing apple pie!

Recipe

4-5 large apples

1 cup Burl, Maple Syrup & Pecan

¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup sugar

½ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground nutmeg

1 pie crust, frozen

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°.

Wash, core, peel, and slice apples thinly (it’s totally worth it!) Set aside.

To make pie filling, add flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in large mixing bowl. Stir to combine. Add sliced apples to dry ingredients and stir until apples are evenly coated and dry mix is consumed.

Pour the pie filling into pie crust. Generously sprinkle Burl over pie filling, making sure the granola evenly covers the apples.

Place pie pan on baking sheet and bake for about 55 minutes, until granola and pecans appear toasted.

Cool, slice, and enjoy!
